Furthermore, a Reddit user shared pictures of four people claiming them to be William, Michael, Elizabeth, and Crying Child in real life. However, other users were quick to point out that they used Freddie Highmore's picture claiming him to be Mike, thus raising questions about its legitimacy. 

Moreover, the creator of the game series or any official documentation of the video game franchise has never claimed the Afton family to have any real-life counterparts or to have been inspired by any families from the present or past. 

Similarly, the Fandom page for the Afton family claims it to be a highly Dysfunctional family with a proven history of child neglect and abuse. Further making it very unlikely to have a resemblance with real-life people.

Michael is theorized to be the manager, technician, and night guard at Freddy's Burger.

According to a popular TikTok video showing the real-life Afton Family's death, Evan who is said to be Christopher "Chris" Afton passed away in 1987 but details are unknown.

Elizabeth Afton

Elizabeth Afton followed her younger brother and passed away in the 1980s. Elizabeth is the second member of the Afton family to perish.

She passed away after being crushed by Circus Baby, an animatronic toy developed by Willaim Afton to swallow small children and crush them to death.

However, she has multiple timelines in the game series and her 1980s demise is just the first of her many deaths in the series. She died for the last time in 2023 in the game series.

William Afton

The family patriarch William Afton passed away in the 1990s making him the third member to perish. William was crushed inside Springlock Suit.

However, his soul possessed the Springlock Suit and he became Scraptrap in the game series and passed away in 2023 in the series.

In the novel series, William Afton is said to have perished in 1997 and the viral TikTok video suggests the "real" William Afton passed away in 1994.

Michael Afton

Michael Afton is the longest-surviving member of the Afton family. He died only in 2023 in the game series.

Details about his death in the novel series are not available and furthermore his said real-life counterpart also does not have a death date on the viral TikTok video.

William Afton does not have a real-life story as the character does not have a  real-life counterpart. William is a character in the FNAF game series.

His fictional story suggests the character lived a double life as a successful businessman and a serial killer in the Five Nights at Freddy game franchise. William is also the creator of demonic animatronics.

William's personality is exactly the textbook definition of evil, according to his Fandom profile. He is portrayed to be sadistic, evil, and psychopathic. In terms of appearance, he had a purple color because he mostly lived in shadows. 

He was a lean and tall person while still a human, which is shown in flashbacks in mini-games, but much is not shown in the game franchise. 

He helped his former friend and business partner Henry Emily establish Fredbear's Family Diner, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, and Fazbear Entertainment. Although he was a prolific businessman, he lived a double life as a serial killer murdering children.

So, a dedicated children murderer Williams Afton killed six children in the FNAF game franchise. The names of his victims include Jeremy, Fritz, Gabriel, Susie, Charlie, and Cassidy.  However, he was responsible for killing dozen of more kids with his evil robots including his own daughter Elizabeth.

William's deeds did not go unpunished as he later turned into Springtrap.

How Did William Afton Become Springtrap?

William Afton became Springtrap after he wore the Springboonie suit to escape the bloodthirsty souls of children he previously killed. 

William was trying to escape the chasing souls when he entered a dark room and wore the Springboonie suit but due to the moisture in the room, the spring mechanism collapsed crushing him inside the suit and trapping him inside, thus the name Springtrap.

However, the storyline never explores the fact William was an insane character. It is unclear when did William Afton become insane but he was building robots to trap and kill children since the beginning of the video game series.

Matthew Lillard will bring back William Afton to life in the new FNAF Film. Five Nights at Freddys will be released on October 27, 2023.
