When Gillion was 20 and Laura 18, the couple met at Trinity College as fellow residents. Gillon had his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Adelaide and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the University of Melbourne.

Blythe and Evans also hold Advanced Surgical Technologies, an Australian orthopedic distribution firm, and Blythe owns one-third of Healthscope, a Victorian medical facility.
His fortune peaked at $145 million in 2005. The millionaire at the time has his back for his son-in-law from staring of his career.
Laura comes from a monied background of being the daughter of wealthy industrialist Brian Blythe. Their different financial environment never hampered her relationship with Gillion, even strengthening their bond.

Recently Gillon left AFL, making it into big headlines and leaving a clear image in his history of AFL. His children were rapt that they would get enough time with their father.
The chief executive officer of the Australian Football League stated that he is leaving AFL for his family. After being a part of sports for twenty years, he is finally going, making it fair for his family.
Angus McLachlan, a former cricketer, and Slyvia McLachlan are Gillion's parents. He is the family's eldest son, with three younger brothers: Hamish, Will, and Banjo McLachlan.
McLachlan comes from a sports family as his father was a first-class cricketer, and his uncle Ian McLachlan is the former Minister for Defence. Ian has served as President of the South Australian Cricket Association.

Gillon paid tribute to his four children and beloved wife Laura as she stated Laura is a peerless partner and mother. He further extended his gratitude to his four children for being there with him being part of it.
The couple is blessed with four children, Edie (14), Cleo (12), Sidney (10), and Luna (5). Among them, they welcomed Edie in 2008; she is the eldest of age 14. Two years later, Cleo was accepted into the McLachlan family.
Gillon and his daughter Luna McLachlan attended the Melbourne premiere of Frozen The Musical at Her Majesty's Theatre on July 14, 2021. The father-daughter bond seems to be strong.
The only son, Sidney, is ten years old and whom Gillon and Laura welcomed in 2012. The youngest member of the McLachlan family is Luna; she is five years old.

The Australian sports broadcaster and host Hamish McLachlan and Gillon McLachlan are brothers; Gillon is his elder brother.
Gillon McLachlan's parents, Angus Mclachlan and Sylvia Mclachlan, are parents to four children, Hamish McLachlan, Banjo McLachlan, Gillon McLachlan, and Will McLachlan.
The bond of brotherhood is more vital than ever as they share a similar interest in sports. They support each other unconditionally; in 2017, Hamish defended his brother Gillon over the timing of leaving his most challenging times at AFL.
Gillon and Hamish studied at St Peter's College and the University of Adelaide. As their profession takes them aligned to each other, they have to join each other on AFL game days.

Angus also owns Victorian sheep station Liewah. His farm produces cattle and won the Meat Standards Australia award for South Australian producer of the year for 2014-15.
The siblings grew up playing around their family farm, Rosebank, in Mount Pleasant, South Australia.
