Texas Tech Head Coach Grant McCasland Gives Insight Into His Family Life

McCasland is an American college basketball coach currently working as the head coach of Texas Tech Red Raiders representing Texas Tech University. He recently joined Texas Tech after working six seasons with North Texas Mean Green as their head coach.
Grant's connection to Texas Tech dates back to 1999 when he joined the basketball program as the director. He served in the position for two years until departing from the institution in 2001.
According to ESPN, his first head coaching job was at the age of 27 years old in 2004 at Midland College in Texas. Since then, he has served as the head coach for Midwestern State Mustangs, Arkansas State Red Wolves, and North Texas Mean Green.
McCasland has also worked as an assistant coach for Northeastern Junior College, and his alma mater Baylor. Other famed basketball coaches from the USA include Rick Barnes, Wes Miller, and Joe Mazzulla.
Grant Was Raised By His Parents In Texas
Grant McCasland family is a native of Irving Texas. Grant attended Irving High School where he played basketball.
Grant grew up in Irving, Texas, and played for Irving High School before venturing off to attend Baylor University. However, he was into football until seventh grade but had to leave the sport due to his knee injury, according to Denton Record-Chronicle.
When he popped his knee during a football game and was said he could not continue playing sports until his junior or senior year of high school, Grant was crushed. In his darkest time, Grant's father was the one who gave him hope and encouragement ultimately bringing him back to sports.
Grant's father worked as a baptist minister at a church. Grant's parents' names have not come to the surface yet but they played a vital role in shaping his career and profession. He grew up with three siblings who now live around the Fort Knox area in Texas with their spouses and kids.
McCasland clan is all about faith and religion. They often have thanksgiving dinner and holiday celebrations together and invite Grant's team over as well. As a son of a baptist minister, Grant is a devoted Christian and his upbringing revolved around church and religion, according to Sports Spectrum.
McCaslands have now settled in Lubbock, Texas after he recently signed a six-year contract with Texas Tech Red Raiders. According to Cece in a Facebook interview with Arkansas State University, she revealed they try to find a good church first and foremost when they move to a new place.
Cece McCasland Is A Former Soccer Player
Grant McCasland wife Cece McCasland played soccer for Texas Tech in the late 1990s. Cece was in the Red Raiders rooster between 1996 and 1999.
Cece Dillon is the recipient of the first Allison Horn memorial award in 2005, she also competed in the Texas Tech Alumni vs Lady Raiders during the alumni week in November 2005, the alumni team lost 7 to 1, according to Texas Tech.
During her final year (1999) on the Texas Tech soccer team, Cece made 15 shots and 11 were on target but she did not score any goals, according to Texas Tech. Coincidently she wore the number 15 jersey for the team during her playing career.
According to David Collier, Cece was given a number 15 shirt by Texas Tech once again during the introductory press conference after her husband signed as a head coach for the Raiders.
Cece has one brother in her family, whom she grew up with. Her brother is married and has children of his own but it is unclear if he is older or younger than Cece.
Her Twitter account @cece_mccasland has been inactive since December 2018. She is not found on other social media platforms.
Grant And Cece Met At Texas Tech
Grant and Cece first met each other at Texas Tech in 1999. Grant was director of basketball operations while Cece played soccer for Texas Tech when the pair first met.
The couple has been together for nearly two and a half decades now. Grant and Cece have not revealed their wedding anniversary to their followers on the web yet, they keep personal information and insight on their married life tightly sealed.
According to The Telegraph, the coach said he and his wife want to be at Texas Tech from all their heart. Similarly, the sports director welcomed Grant, his wife, and their children back home to Texas. The pair started their romantic journey from the institution in 1999.
Grant and Cece were 22 and 21 years old respectively when they first met at Texas Tech. The pair shares four beautiful kids in their 24 years of togetherness.

Amaris McCasland is the eldest of four siblings.
She is also an athlete and competes in track and field events. According to her mother Cece during an interview with Arkansas States University, Amaris also competes in gymnastics and plays soccer.
Amaris is a competitive runner and was a champion in the 4X4 running race representing Argyle Cross Country team, her father Grant shared a tweet on his Twitter account to celebrate her achievement.
She is a member of the Chi Omega Sorority at Baylor University. She is also a passionate photographer and shares the pictures taken by her on her Instagram page @amarismphoto. However, her main Instagram profile under username @amaris.mccasland is private at the moment.
According to Denton Record-Chronicle, Amaris is the eldest of four kids but her actual birthdate or her age has not come to the surface yet.
Jett McCasland is the second on the list.
The 17-year-old celebrates his birthday on January 21 every year.
Jett has followed in his father's footsteps and plays basketball for the Argyle High School basketball team. He stands at 5 feet and 8 inches and weighs 135 pounds making him one of the smallest athletes on the team.
Kevin Moses, a basketball scout, wrote that Jett has stars written all over him replying to a video of him playing basketball on Twitter. However, Jett does not have a social media account of his own available to the public or his fans yet.
Jersey McCasland is Grant and Cece's youngest daughter.
Jersey is 14 years old and celebrates her birthday on October 7 every year. Grant shared a video on his Twitter wishing Jersey her 8th birthday in 2016, in the video, we can see Jersey jumping off Grant's hands to a pool and doing a somersault before landing upright.
Although the couple's youngest daughter is also an athlete competing in track and field sports, much about Jersey's career hasn't come to the surface yet. McCasland plays for Argyle High School just like her elder siblings.
Beckett McCasland is the youngest of the McCasland clan.
Beckett is 13 years old and he celebrates his birthday on December 17 every year.
Although Beckett is also a competitive athlete, he has opted for a slightly different sport than the rest of his family members. Coach Grant's youngest boy plays golf at Denton Country Club, according to Blue Golf.
He has played in 10 club events in the 2020 season and finished all of them in the top 25, seven in the top 10, and stood first in one tournament. Following on the footsteps of his elder siblings, Beckett also does not have a public social media account.
