The Bates Family is part of the IBLP except for the household's third child Erin Paine. Erin cut ties with Institute in Basic Life Principles in 2016.
United Bates of America cast, The Bates family, comprises Gil and Kelly Jo Bates and their 19 children. They have ten girls and nine boys.
The head members of the household are also grandparents to their 24 grandchildren.

In 2012, the Bates family was featured on the television show United Bates of America for one season. Three years later, they returned with the television series Bringing Up Bates which aired from 2015-2021 for ten seasons.
In January 2022, the network announced that the show has been canceled in order to focus on new projects.

Yes, the Bates family are still a part of IBLP except Erin Bates Paine and her partner. It is known that Gil serves as a member of IBLP's board of directors.
The other members of the household haven't disclosed if they have left the ministry or not.
Gil and his loved ones still being part of the ministry came into the limelight when a Reddit user found his about section on the official website of IBLP.
Talking about her third kid Erin, she and her husband Chad left the ministry after a massive lawsuit was filed against Bill Gothard, former head of the organization in 2015. The patriarch of the household was also mentioned in the lawsuit.
According to She Knows, his son Lawson was quick to defend him stating that his father only joined the BOD two years ago before the case and was unaware of the accusation.
The Paine couple had announced their departure via an Instagram post. Erin's loved ones have been tight-lipped about their feelings regarding her walking away from the organization.
Chad and his wife both were raised in IBLP and received their education via the ATI curriculum which is organized by the ministry for its members.
What Religion Are The Bates Family?
The Bates family religion is evangelical conservative Christian. The household is outspoken about the importance of their faith.
They are part of a nondenominational Christian organization known as the Institute in Basic Life Principles. The organization was established by Minister Bill Gothard in 1961.
Currently, the ministry is led by a board of directors since the former head was accused of inappropriate behavior toward women.
Bobye Holt, Duggar's family friend claims that Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob serve as the head of the IBLP. But, the organization has kept the information regarding the official leader private from the public.
The main purpose of the organization is to provide direction to find success in life by following biblical principles. or IBLP followers, Bible is the source of faith and belief.
The children who follow Institute in Basic Life Principles are expected to be homeschooled. The ministry had offered home education programs for children known as Advance Training Institute in 1984. The program was dismissed in 2021.
IBPL believes that men are superior and the head of the household whereas women are expected to obey the male species. Several programs are introduced in the organization such as seminars, mentoring for troubled youth, community outreach, and more.
Bates And Duggars Relationship
The head members of the Bates and Duggar families are no longer friends with each other, Cheatsheet reports. However, the kids of both households have a good bond.
It is known that the two clans had a feud on Instagram back in July 2020. The Duggars had unfollowed Bates on the platform but refollowed them again.
A year later, followers of Duggar believe that a sermon by Gil in June 2021 was a dig at Josh Duggar and his entire family.
The Duggar household came into the limelight with their television show 19 Kids and Counting. The Bates also made numerous appearances in the show before they had their own show.
Duggar clan's docuseries Shiny Happy People was released on June 2, 2023. The show portrays the deeper secrets and connections to Christian fundamentalism.
Duggars consist of 19 kids and their parents Michelle and Jim. The name of the 19 children is Joshua James, Jana Marie, John-David, Jill Michelle, Jessa Lauren, Joseph Garrett, Joy-Anna, Josiah Matthew, Jedidiah Robert, Jeremiah Robert, Jason Michael, James Andrew, Justin Samuel, Jackson Levi, Johannah Faith, Jennifer Danielle, Jordyn-Grace Makiya, Josie Brooklyn and Jinger Nicole Duggar.
The patriarchs of both households first met each other in the 1990s at a religious conference. Jim first went and talked with Gil since they had a similar number of kids.
Despite the similar household members, religion, and morals the Bates and Duggars are different from one another. The Bates are not strict as the Duggars in terms of the dating rules.
The fans also believe that the Bates are more laid back than the Duggars. However, both clans are equally loved by the viewers and many wished for the children to be in a courtship.
